Is there any difference in running a full system scan when not connected to the internet as opposed to running a full system while connected to the internet?
I have a very expensive and unreliable internet connection. I prefer to be disconnected as often as possible. As near as I can understand the NIC 2015 manual seems to say that a full system scan while not connected to the internet uses a lesser antivirus database than doing such a scan while connected to the internet. Is my interpretation correct?
What I would like to do is run LiveUpdate, disconnect from the internet, start a full system scan, and then go to bed. I would check the results of the scan when I wake up in the morning.
My bottom line question is if following that routine would result in lesser protection than if I left the computer connected to the internet while the full system scan was being run; and if so, is that protection significantly less effective.
