NSR and Ghost errors during backup after adding new USB Flash Drive - Disk 1 vs. Disk 2.

NSR error:

-Error EBAB03E9: Internal Application Error: Memory Access Violation c0000005: Application tried to read memory at 01b19bb0.

Ghost 15 error:

Cannot create a virtual volume image of the selected drive.
--Error E0BC0002: Object SME~Computer~BgM95AA95AARegion-0~VM95AA95AARegion-0-1 not found.

I am backing up a laptop to a USB 250 GB hardrive.  It was known as Disk 1 to the system.

Added a 8 GB flash drive for quick backups for banking software.  That's now known as Disk 1 and the USB hardrive as Disk 2.

If I remove the flash drive and the USB drive goes back to Disk 1 the NSR or Ghost backups work.

I have a license to NSR, during a chat session Symantec support center uninstalled NSR and installed Ghost, different error, but same results.  Full backup will work sometimes, but daily incrementals will not at all.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled, recreated jobs several times.  Did chkdsk and defrags.

Why does this software care about Disk number?  Should be drive letter or name.
