Hello again. I recently installed a trial version of NU16 after Norton 360 registry scanner disappeared. It has done a good job of cleaning up my laptop and made it zippier but has removed all of my Windows System Restore points and turned System Restore off. I feel an idiot for not going into settings before pressing the big 'Optimize Now' button, and have now done this to set it up so it does what I want, when I want, mostly, but I can't find anything in settings related to System restore. Also I can't seem to adjust the 'bar' between 'best performance' and 'best appearance'. I'm assuming this is because it is the trial version and there are more functions with the full version.
After reading around a bit I understand (is this correct?) that it is normal for NU 16 to disable System restore and remove System restore points, as a kind of security issue. Surely that can't be right - I don't want my Windows functions to be disabled. I did back everything up before Installing NU16 and I think the registry was backed up automatically, but if there is a way of setting it up and keeping System Restore I would be happier!
