Issue abstract: Norton dump files taking up huge amount of space on my SSD.
Detailed description: In sorting by file size, the largest file on my drive is C:\ProgramData\Norton\LocalDumps\firefox.exe.4088.dmp. It is 7.7gb (!) created and last modified on 11-20-22. That same folder has my 6th and 7th largest files, Outlook.exe.12388.dmp and Outlook.exe.5584.dmp, each about 700mb and each created a couple days ago. (I was having some Outlook issues, but it seems fine now.) The final file in that folder is iexplore.exe13456.dmp, which is about 400mb and dated 6-8-24. Can I simply delete these, especially that 7.7gb monster?
Product & version number: Norton 360 v22.24.8.36
OS details: Windows 10.

Ardmore. You should be ok removing those files. As a precaution, make sure none of them are related to an email .pst file. FF appears to be the issue here what is causing FF to dump that kind of data in the first place? Viral activity?
Thanks. Yeah, the presence of that huge 7.7gb Norton dump labeled Firefox seems especially odd, but since it was created 2 years ago I guess I won’t worry about it now.
Good thought re Outlook. Maybe I’ll immediately make a copy of my pst file to an external drive. And also leave those two Norton Outlook-related dump files there for awhile.
I’ll hold off on marking this as solved for a few days, just in case anyone else also wants to weigh in.
