I am trying to update my kids' settings, but get a pop up stating that I have an old version "Click here to update" I went through the whole process (including it deleting the old installation?), but got the same message when I tried to update. It's in a loop. Help? Not sure I have any protection at all right now.

Thanks for the post. It's a known issue and the QA and development team are working on it actively. Below is a workaround for the issue.
If you see the message as shown in the screen shot on the Settings –> Time screen after you download the latest Norton Safety Minder, please do the following to continue to use the program.
Go to Settings -> Profile and click on the “Remove computer” link for the PC (in this case, the PC name is “Support PC”).

If we remove the PC from the list won't that mean it is no longer monitored?

The workaround suggests a user to install the latest Norton Safety Minder first, after it's done, the user will have at least two PCs available under Settings -> Profile. One of them is the PC that the user creates during the latest installation and the other one is the PC indicated in the message on the Settings -> Time page (see the screen snap in my previous post). The user needs to delete the PC shown in the message.
If the user hasn't installed the latest Norton Safety Minder, then your are right, the PC won't be monitored. The user needs to REINSTALL Norton Safety Minder on the PC, which is perfectly fine.
