OLE:ScriptBridge-inf [Trj] - repeated threat detection but no cure ?

Today for the first time I am getting repeated warnings from Norton360 about “OLE:ScriptBridge-inf [Trj]” threat secured and moved to quarantine. this message appears repeatedly every few minutes. Does anybody know what this is, what’s going on, should I take action, do I need to worry ? Any help or advise would be very much appreciated.

The good news is that Norton is protecting you against this threat.

Have you scanned your PC as suggested in the dialog?

Hi Peterweb, yes indeed I have run Norton’s smart scan, quick scan, full scan and start up scan. I also ran Norton’s Power Erasor to try to clear or detect the cause or problem.
It still triggers the same warning “threat secured” every 10 minutes repeatedly throughout the day and night. It’s rather worrying and time-consuming, and might be dangerous, I just don’t know.
I have also sent the file to Norton from quarantine, awaiting a response.

Hi, were you able to solve the problem last year? What did you do? I’ve been having a similiar problem for 3 days now and dont really know what to do.

Thanks in advance!

Did you try all the suggestions in bjm_'s post just above yours?

Would you also do the Malwarebytes thing? I mean I payed for Norton . does it make sense to install a free antivirus software now?

Yes. Malwarebytes covers some items that Norton does not. It is often suggested here as a second opinion scan. No single AV product can protect against the tens of thousands of new malware released every day.

thank you. I’ll try that then.

Malwarebytes scan says there are no threats,

Norton full scan says there are no threats.

I havent heard back from Virus support.

I cleared browser cookies, I guess I dont run browser sync - at least not that I know of, I only installed an update of a program that I’Ve been using for 10 years now for my job, I didnt allow push notifications recently, didnt change site permissions.

Whats do I do now?
