Once again my VPN disconnects me from the Internet

This happened about a week ago and that’s the first time it started . For about a week when I turned off my wi fi on my desktop , it solved the problem. Once again, and the only thing that changed is I got a two month free subscription for Norton Ultimate but I don’t know if that’s the problem. It says on my VPN or somewhere on Norton 360 that security has been increased because I’m on a public network. However, The recommended setting in windows 11 is public network Because that setting says my device is not discoverable on the Internet. That’s the best most secure setting in windows 11 but then my VPN doesn’t work. Don’t know what the solution is. Turned off my wifi and it’s been off but now you’ve added some other layer of security that’s disabling the Internet.

OS details:

What is the error message you are seeing?

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

Open 360 and click on Privacy and open the VPN. Click on the Settings tab and scroll down to the Kill Switch setting. If that is on, turn it off. Restart your computer and test your connection again.

So I have Norton Utilities Ultimate as a two month free trial, Norton 360 and a separate app for the Norton VPN. Do I need the separate app for the Norton VPN anymore because I had split tunneling turned off in that app and just now when I turned it off in Norton 360 my VPN says it’s active or on but The separate VPN app says it’s off. I never heard anyone say that if I had Norton 360 I don’t need the separate Norton VPN app but is that the case?

Having the separate Norton Secure VPN app installed as well as the Norton 360 app can possibly cause issues like you are seeing. The two apps do not communicate between themselves. So if you have the VPN turned on in one app, it does not show any indications of an active VPN in the other. And both provide the same VPN features. So it is recommended that if you have the 360 app you should remove the standalone VPN app.
