When beginning a disk scan with Norton utilities I get a message telling me “One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency” In looking for an answer on how to do that in the Norton Utilities instructions and Forums, I hope to find my answer here.
Hello Phloyd Phlapp. Have you used the "Repair Drives" function in your NU settings? Drive consistency messages usually indicate a problem with the file system on the drive being detected. Conversely, you can also run an elevated command line in Windows, chkdsk/f , ensure you are logged into the system under admin credentials. The system will prompt you to have the disk checked at the next restart. Tell it yes and reboot.
Cheers
