Online Family email Notifications questionable

I recently installed Norton 360 version 3.  Let me start that this email not meant to be a harsh complaint.  I have spent many hours trying to get version 2's parental control to function correctly, but never was successful.  Now that I have installed version 3, the online family package is by far better than version 2.  Thank you for the improvement.

However, you are short in one area.  Every time my kids use their computer and load Internet Explorer to search the web for legitimate websites, I am sent an email notification that, "The Safety Minder tool on xxxx computer used by bbbbbb has been disabled. As you know, Safety Minder is required on every computer monitored by OnlineFamily.Norton."

If I walk in to the room and  look at their computer while my kids are still on it, I can view that the Safety Minder is still active, and that they are on a legitimate website.  These false notifications are tiresome.  I cannot keep jumping up or wondering, is the email correct or just another false email notification.

I have tried doing a full un-installed for Safety Minder, Online Family, and Norton 360.   I then installed each one again, and I get the same results.  The techs I worked with are telling me that I am the only one experience this.  I find that hard to believe.  Please get this corrected, and you will have a excellent tool for parent's peace of mind.

Hi DJmichaud,

You metioned "Every time my kids use their computer and load Internet Explorer to search the web for legitimate websites", you received the Norton Safety Minder is turned off message...Did you mean you could reproduce it consistantly?

I  just sent you a PM.  You could access the message by clicking on the icon_notes_mail.gif icon in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Thanks,

Katie

Please, everybody, join us in this thread so that we can have a consistent discussion about this.  Symantec already knows the likely cause as you will see when you read the thread.  There are so many different threads that it is very confusing.
