Only 3 backups per week wanted?

I've recently installed Ghost 15 after having used Acronis for a number of years to do my backups. Because the machine in question is not used every day, I had Acronis set up to do 3 full backups a week, meaning at any time I had 3 restorable backups which has worked well for me. However, being new to Ghost, I wanted to set it up the same way, but I am not sure how to do that.

What I WANT is as  noted is only 3 backups per week, but I do not need nor want to have incremental backups in between. I thought I had it set up to do that, but what I wound up with is one *.sv2i (Recovery Environmental file) and at least one *.v2i file and a number of *.iv2i files, which I assume are incrementals. I did some more tweaking, and changed the backups to daily, in hopes that this would at least get me a full backup without the incrementals, and it did indeed. Sortof. I now have the one *.sv2i file , and a number of *.v2i ("Symantec Image Files"). It's set to do a "recovery point" (which I also don't quite understand) weekly.

Questions:

1. What is the role of the *.sv2i file (Symantec Recovery Environment file)? Is it just a settings file? Something else? It's very small, so I'm assuming just settings, but...

2. If I need to restore the HD, I'm assuming I boot to the Ghost CD, and it will let me pick one of those 7 files to restore?

3. What is the role of the "Recovery Point"? Is it the same as that *.sv2i file? Something else? How is it used in a restore?

4. If I DO change it to my 3 days, how can I make it not do the incrementals?

BTW, I'm aware this version is older, but I have a friend who also has that version and we are helping each other with this.

TIA
