Since installing Norton it seems to be blocking port 843. Looking at instructions how ro remedy this it says go to 'connection blocking section' in firewall in order to add new service port. I cannot see this in 'smart firewall'.

Thanks for your reply. The program is gaydar chat rooms. It keeps saying to check port 843 is not blocked by the firewall.
What is the issue you are having? Are you having trouble viewing flash content? Is the problem only on that website? If you are connected to the site, it is doubtful that the firewall would be causing an issue.

It just won't connect to the chat room and says to check the firewall is not blocking port 843.
I really doubt that the Norton Smart Firewall is causing the issue. Are you behind a router? Also, it is possible that your ISP is blocking traffic on this port. You might try contacting the site itself to see if they have any suggestions or solutions.
