The title says it all really - I have Norton 360 Deluxe installed on 4 devices all of which appear on the ‘My Devices’ page of my.norton.com, but the options to ‘Edit Name’ and ‘Remove’ are missing from 2 of these devices which I’ve recently added. How can I change their names or remove them when I need to?

fwiw ~ Change the name of your devices in your Norton account here
Didn’t work, but thanks for the suggestion.
FYI I had a look at the ‘Remote Management’ setting on one of the problem devices as suggested; it was already enabled. So I disabled it, then re-enabled it, and then restarted the device. When I logged into the My Norton portal the ‘Edit Name’ and ‘Remove’ options were still missing.
Yup. Exactly my problem too.
Hello @Melvyn_Duckmanton
I’m thinking if/when you reinstall Norton on the other two devices.
Maybe, ‘Edit Name’ & ‘Remove’ will also be gone.
‘Remove’ is done via Manage Licenses here
I’m thinking since v24 release remains phased.
We’re hoping with v24 full release. Norton will update related documentation.
Yes, I think you’re probably right. I spent a while on Messenger this afternoon with a lady from Norton Support who determined that the devices with the problem were using a newer version of Norton (V24.11.9615.883). Devices without the problem were using an older Norton (V22.24.8.36).
For those of you that have arrived here because you have the same problem as described in the original post, read on . . .
I’ve had a conversation with a Norton technical customer support guy and resolved the issue - sort of.
It appears that with the latest version of Norton (V24) the options to ‘Edit Name’ and ‘Remove’ are no longer available for devices shown in ‘My Norton’ web portal >> ‘My Devices’ tab. I don’t know whether this is policy or an oversight.
‘Remove’ Workaround
You can still remove a device via the ‘My Norton’ portal using ‘My Account’ >> ‘My Subscriptions’ >> ‘Manage Licenses’ >> ‘Delete’.
‘Rename’ Workaround
To rename a device you have to first remove the device via the ‘My Norton’ portal as described above.
Then actually change the name on the device itself (in my case using ‘Windows Settings’ >> ‘System’ >> ‘Rename this PC’).
Then re-install Norton on the device whereupon it will appear in the ‘My Norton’ >> ‘My Devices’ list with it’s new name.
What a faff !
Hope this helps someone else.
Thanks for the post back. FWIW!! For support to offer this as a workaround is absurd. Many of us are already doing R&R far too often as it is. Norton needs to fix the issue, its theirs. I too have this issue for the 2nd time in a year and am not about to remove, reinstall, rename and reboot every device on my subscription.
@Gayathri_R Please pass to the teams for action.
SA
Fairly astute pc user here so i cannot imagine how frustrating this issue would be for unexperienced or neophyte users.
Some of the devices on my account’s “My Devices” list were available to be changes (name or remove) and some were not for “My Devices” in Online Portal. One device on the “My Account” page’s “Manage Licenses” subscription list was NOT showing on “My Devices” list. In my specific “My Devices” list there was obsolete device that i WAS able to remove but, once removed, the unlisted but active device did NOT show up though still listed under “Manage License” list.
(Also, apparently, you cannot remove or update the name of the device you are currently using to access the “My Devices” list. But that is small issue compared to the whole issue.)
I had to hunt around to find this thread with similar issues because of the wording.
Norton Product Team - yelling, yes yelling so you please hear this:
“MY DEVICES” LIST IN THE ONLINE PORTAL SHOULD EXACTLY MATCH THE “MANAGE LICENSES” LIST ON “MY ACCOUNT” PRODUCT SUBSCRIPTION LIST! !!!
It is REALY that simple folks!
Paying a lot of money to you for creating management issues like this while protecting our devices from viruses.
Thankyou to all those subscribers who have taken time to address this issue about “removing a device”. I thought it was me just me being “stupid” for having the problem myself. Much appreciated.
EDIT: If you click on “Manage Licenses” underneath the product, a little box appears which lists all your devices using that particular product. Then click on the dustbin to remove it.
This worked for me.
Merry Christmas.
