Outlook 2010 doesn't connect to my mail server

I have Norton 360 v5 and it seems to create a conflict with Microsoft Outlook 2010.  I am currently running Windows 7 Enterprise Edition.

When I tried adding my POP3 email accounts in Outlook, I tried testing the account connections. Both sending and receiving tests failed (maybe timed out). I turned off email scanning, and disabled the anitvirus and firewall. With all these options disabled, the receiving test failed but the sending test passed. I tried different options many many times, and nothing prevailed. On top of that, each time I tried the tests, I had to reboot the computer because I lost all connections to the internet, and my Norton product also stopped responding.

So, I uninstalled my Norton 360, and everything is passing with flying colors, took like 2 seconds for both tests to pass.

Therefore, there is an obvious conflict going on, and I am not sure what to do. I really enjoy the Norton 360 product with all it has to offer, but I can't keep going without my emails.

Please, if you have a solution, I would really like to work this out.

Thanks,

Eric

Eric,

Please try reinstalling Norton 360, and if the problem persists, report back and we will help you out. We can't check the issue without Norton 360 installed in the computer. Make sure that you uninstall any other Security products installed in your computer before you install Norton 360. After installing Norton 360, run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you receive all the available updates.

Thanks,

Good advice from HarrryP. Only thing I might add is a run of the Norton Removal Tool before you reinstall, to clear out any debris that Windows might have left behind.
