As has been reported a couple of times before (see related posts below) NIS5 keeps asking whether or not to block Parallels Desktop.
I did notice that it automatically allows access to /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_client_app but blocks access to /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_naptd . Another difference I noticed is that prl_client_app seems to run as the user who is logged in whereas prl_naptd seems to run as root.
I tried adding prl_naptd (Firewall -> Application Blocking -> Configure -> Add application (after exposing it by creating a soft link to /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/) but that results in the message "One or more of the applications you selected are already protected. One of the applications you selected is already in the Application Blocking list.".
I tried adding Parallels to Connection Blocking but that doesn't help (not a surprise as the log files explicitly refer to Application Blocking not Connection Blocking).
Any ideas how to get rid of the annoying allow/deny requests when starting Parallels? By itself I don't mind the pop-up dialogs too much but they often time out before I get a chance to grant access thereby blocking my VM's network access..
If any additional info is required to help with this then please let me know..
Bart.
