My teenage son was surfing the net and was obviously curious as he was viewing some adult (relatively tame) sites. I didn't have proper parental controls set within Norton 360.
I went in, selected settings, then add-ons, then parental control and my password. When I scrolled down to the account he uses (we all use it) it was set to "Adult user". I went to change it to Teen.
At that point you are asked to set preferences (where you can add or delete specific sites or categories which makes sense) and you can view history - and I can see the sites and IP addresses that were blocked before (previous day, month or all).
This question has probably been asked before: how do you delete from that list. No matter what I do, they don't go away - deleting IE hist, run cleanups in 360 etc. I don't mind having them there so I know what was attempted to be viewed and subsequently blocked but at some point we will want to clear it out. And it seems that not all were tracked. I went to an on-line gambling site recently and got the Norton web blocked page..should that not be in the list of attempted pages that were blocked. Anyhow, I would love to clear out the list and start fresh now that the boy has been talked to! :-)
Ideas???
Thanks
JJ
Well you could try an uninstall/reinstall.
Not sure there is a way. N360 seems to not be that user friendly. I have recently posed a similar Q on how to edit the internet logs, which can be viewed through the logviewer. However apparently it also cannot be done. I am thinking of switching to Trend Micro PC-cillin which allows the user to edit everything! To date I have posed the edit Question to N360 techos and on this chat board. I thought N360 staff chipped in to offer soln's but it seems not!
good luck.
