Hello, newish user here. I've got an odd question that I hope someone can definitively answer here. Norton has been flagging a great number of my computer's startups as safe mode boots, despite the fact that I have not actually been booting in safe mode at all. Is this a known bug? Does Norton consider any non-standard boot to be a safe mode boot? I assume that's the case because I ran my computer from a USB stick recently (Windows Defender Offline), and Norton also flagged that as a safe mode boot. In the past I've had the BSOD, and the recovery programs windows ran were also flagged. I have an alienware computer; could alienware's startup screen (which bypasses the default windows startup) also be flagged? I appreciate the clarification.
As an aside, I've noticed huge slowdowns in general computer speed and especially browser speed after installing Online Family and Norton 360 in general. It's a well known fact that anti-virus and net nannies can slow browsing, yes? I'm getting conflicted reports from people on this.
Cheers
