As you probably know, PM8 is not compatible with VISTA because of some subtle changes made by Microsoft in the file structure. I am wondering if by any chance that change is carries over after you reformatted the drive/partition?
Just a thought since I'm not an expert on this. I've used PM8 to create a partition on a new drive in which to install VISTA on a dual boot system and that was OK because I understand that the installation procedure of VISTA reformats the drive anyway but I'm not sure if it is OK the other way round or if there is any way to carry out a re-format that overcomes this.
See what others can suggest.
