I've got two partitions on the same hard drive. One is unallocated and had nothing in it. The other has my O/S on it (XP SP2). I'm running out of space on the system partition. How can I merge the two? I keep getting lock errors via the PartitionMagic GUI.
Thanks,
beaudetious

Have you tried booting from the PM 8 CD or from the floppy disks you can make, IIRC? That should get around a lock problem I would imagine.
A workaround you could try is to shrink the second partition and then enlarge the system partition to take up that space. Doing it as separate operations might work better if Windows is telling PM "Don't mess with me -- I'm running" <g>
That may keep you going until the experts turn up <g>
PS I have PM8 myself but I'm dual booted with VISTA so I've replaced it with Acronis Disk Director, which looks more like PM than the Paragon one does. FWIW.
