wow thank you for all your help

Some websites may use proprietary code for their login pages. Maybe using a different label for the username box that what is considered 'standard'. When Norton checks those pages it does not find the label it is looking for, so it does not offer to fill anything.

For the apps, as I noted, Norton has to add them manually to some database that NPM uses. When I find out what the new reporting process is, I'll pass it along.

the safe web feature was turned off. it didn’t work, i turned back on and didn’t work. appreciate all your help…really puzzling with only certain sites acting this way, rather it be all or none! Brad

What iPhone and iOS version are you using?

One last suggestion that might affect the one site you access from a browser. Try turning off the Safe Web feature and test. from the main interface, tap Security > Internet Security and tap Disable Safe Web.

Edit

I have just tried reporting an app not working with NPM using the process that was last given to me. But that process seems to have changed. I have asked my Norton contact what the new process is. I'll report back as soon as I hear anything.

No sir…not using a vpn…my phone and apps are pretty basic…

Any chance you are using a VPN on  that phone when you have your issue?

Many web sites do not allow access from known VPN IP addresses. They do this for copyright, legal, security, and political reasons. There is nothing a VPN provider can or should do to circumvent these legal protections. See this How to Geeks article.   https://www.howtogeek.com/403771/why-do-some-websites-block-vpns/

two are iphone apps chase / WF

the baseball app is a browser (safari) on the phone

hope this helps

I don't need the web site URL because you say you can access them from the laptop. You are saying that the apps are having difficulty having NPM log you in.

So can you confirm whether you are using apps or a browser on the iPhone?

thank you!!!

baseball application to watch grandson. this app carries ID & PW to sign in, but when you press login they both disappear and are blank

It may be something specific in the apps that access the website that is blocking Norton on the mobile devices. If you are using a browser to access those sites, that could explain why they work on your laptop and not from your phone's apps.

If you can list the 4 iOS apps that are not working as expected, I can escalate this thread to get Norton to check those apps with Norton Password Manager, NPM. From what I remember, Norton has to code for each app supported for logins. It was not just any app you could use NPM on. Not sure if anything has changed since I last heard that.

it is an apple iphone, all software current and a dell laptop. the laptop sign in works fine with PW Manager. you would think that would pass to iphone. Most apps i can set up on phone or laptop and syncs ok. i’ve tried this by setup on laptop and then separately on iphone and no luck it does on many logins, works laptop and iphone, but on about 4 logins. this is one in particular

Is it just the one app or all apps on the iPhone that will not fill?

I just tested a couple of my apps and the process seems to be: When the login page is presented, tap in the username field and that brings up the keyboard and a line that says Passwords. Tapping on Passwords brings up the sign in for the Norton Password Manager. Then tap on the correct login for that app and the information is filled in for you.

I don't know if this is some constraint enforced by iOS. Generally, iOS does not allow direct connection between apps for security reasons.
