Below is the document to backup you Norton Password Manager data:

When you install Norton Internet Security 2008, Norton Password Manager is removed. When this happens you see the following message:
"Would you like to delete all personal information stored in the Norton Password Manager database? This data is encrypted and can only be accessed by Norton Password Manager." To save your Norton Password Manager profile information, click No when you see this message.
So I can unistall the Password Manager, install the Internet Security 2008, and then reinstall the Password Manager?
Or does the Norton Internet Security 2008 have something similar to the Password Manager? Is it not possible to have both operating?
Keep Norton Password Manager installed when installing Norton Internet Security 2008. There is a component of NIS 2008 called Identity Safe, which will import the passwords in Password Manager to Identity Safe in Norton Internet Security. Identity Safe will replace Password Manager; both cannot be installed at the same time.
Thank you!
Please help.....
I am trying to upgraded to Norton 2008. When I do, I get the following message:
"We have detected an installation problem requiring that you uninstall Norton Password Manager before installing Norton Internet Security. Before you unstall, please click on the link below to get more information about how to preserve and export your password information. This is the link it takes me to:

I then went to the discussion forums and found the discussion below. I was able to backup my Password Manager Profile, but if I am reading this correctly, it says I should leave Password Manager on my computer and Norton 2008 will remove it and ask me if I want to keep the information in Password Manager. Norton 2008 is requiring me to remove Password Manager first and according to what I am reading below, Norton 2008 will not be able to read the back up I created from Password Manager. How can I keep the information in Password Manager??????????

You can delete the Password Manager once you have backed up the profiles. Then in the Identity Safe program, there is a place where you can import a profile. So yes - delete if first before you install the new NIS.
ummmm....just to let you know - I found my Internet Explorer ran SOOOOO slow when I had the Phishing Filter and the Identity Safe program running - I turned it off. I did use the online customer support and they helped a little - but certain sites were still incredibly slow. I just haven't taken the time yet to go again and see if they can figure out why certain sites are so slow.
Thanks…
