Passwords for Norton - how many are needed

I seem to have 3 separate passwords related to Norton products, maybe even 4.  I have 1 for my Account, 1 for Identity Safe, 1 for this forum, and maybe a 4th.  It is all very confusing. Shouldn't one Norton Account id and password work for all three of these items?  Or am I supposed to synchronize them myself?

I don't use Identity Safe myself but since it would contain all my log in data for bank accounts credit cards etc I would want one very secure one that is difficult to be guessed or reached by computer hacking techniques. I would not want to use it for anything else.

What you do about your Norton Account and here is up to you as long as you do not use a password that you use for something else important.

But see what others have to say.

Hi Anne_S,

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to use the same password for all of your Norton accounts - although I would not recommend it.  Your Identity Safe password should be unique, because you wouldn't want to jeopardize your vault if one of your other accounts was compromised.  And you wouldn't want a password to a public website like the Norton Community to be identical to a password you have to a private account, such as your Norton Account or IDS vault.

It is always advisable to use unique passwords for all accounts that you have in order to decrease each password's exposure to possible compromise, and to prevent access to other accounts in the event that a compromise does happen to one of your accounts.
