Windows 7 64bit pro, boot part ssd, swap part ssd, floppy drive (for legacy work)

I've searched Filezilla forum and found thread that says this is either Windows operating system and/or antiVirus program problem.
Whenever I start Filezilla (v3.5.1), there is a few seconds pause before filezilla starts while the floppy drive and hard drive indicators light up.
The filezilla thread says that filezilla just asks "...Windows for list of drives, drive labels and drive icons [when it starts]". Could this be triggering an NIS scan?
Not sure I want to do any disabling of antivirus features, but is there a setting to change that would prevent the scanning and resulting pause?
