After attempting to run live update this evening around 21:07-21:10 I noticed some odd messages in the norton history.
Live Update failed multiple times to install activity map and web protection definitions updates. I ran one-check support and it found nothing. At around this time the history shows two entries, one for this error:
norton encountered an internal progra error 0x00000000
module id 8920
and one for hsplayer.exe accessing the internet.
After this I rebooted and live update now completes fine, however in the norton history the following are all shown accessing the internet on boot up,
system32\services.exe
lsass.exe x 2
norton internet secuirty\engine\18.6.0.29\ccsvchst.exe x 2
sidebar.exe
scvhost.exe x 5
spoolsv.exe
wininit.exe
Some of these like wininit only show up the one time, this evening on reboot, so I'm wondering if this is something that is... odd? This appears to occur everytime I reboot now, but there are no log entries prior to the live update errors tonight.
I am using Vista 64, NIS 2011.
