Apparently this is an ongoing problem for over 10 years. I’ve found forums on this very subject.
The desktop icon is just that. It’s not a taskbar, sidebar, anybar. It’s a plain old desktop icon.
I do not want to hide all desktop icons. I want to delete the Norton Desktop icon and have it never come back. It’s replaced itself on the desktop 7 times in 7 days.
I’m using Windows 10. There is no Norton icon installed in any other user including the public or default user’s desktop. It’s the program update itself that is reinstalling the desktop icon.
