Hi Meixiang,

I'm not a Norton expert, in fact I'm still in my trial period :smileyhappy:, but I had the exact same problem: could back up an entire disk, but not individual files.

I did fix it though: it turned out that this backup had included my target drive (Trekstor USB disk) as one of the source drives.

This could obviously cause problems for the software - although I'm surprised that the software doesn't catch this mistake.

So maybe your backup includes the SATA disk as a source drive - even though you are copying TO it?

The workaround is to simply back up only selected folders on the drives you want.

So, if you want to back up all your documents on C:\, you could add C:\ and then tick the file types you want.

For me, I'm just backing-up everything under my Local Settings, plus where I store family photos.

Works fine.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi,

For me the error "Error EC8F1C50: Cannot create file backup for job:..." for files and folders backup started only when I selected to backup my email files in the settings of the backup job. Before that I never had problems.

So it looks like it is a bug for sure since the option is there but creates a bug as soon as you select it.

It took me a while to find the problem since my full backup (disk image) was still working fine.

Cheers,

Alain

Thanks, I looked into that and it didn't solve my problem - guess I will spend some time on the phone with Symantec!

Will try that, centris! Thanks
