Please Help!

Please could you update your Product via LiveUpdate and do a Full System Scan in Safe Mode.

Also, if your probelms do come back, I would suggest un-installing the Google Tool Bar.

NIS 09 doesn't out of the box, but you can install Norton Safeweb (BETA), which is the same kind of thing: http://safeweb.norton.com/

You need NIS2009 for this though.

It's Still In - Beta :smileysurprised:

You'd have thought Symantec would have waited for it to be out of Beta ... Before Releasing - NIS 09

Then Again... I think NIS 09 could have spent a bit more time in - Beta

Perfection - Is Worth... Waiting For! :smileywink:

And.. I've heard there is still a few problems with - NIS 09 :smileysad:

Does Norton Safeweb... Scan the websites?

OR...

Does it just work of a Blacklist - Like... Mcafee - Site Advisor?

Thanks!

This was symantec's plan to release N.I.S. 2009 now and to have the Safe Web in Beta because they are working on it to make it a really good component.

Norton Safe Web provides Rating on the Web Links of Web Site; these Rating let you know if it is Safe to click on the Web Link, Caution if there is a small Risk it could be Fake/hold Malware, At Risk if it is a Fake Web Site and Untested, which mean symantec have not yet looked at this Web Site to see if it is Fake/hosts Malware.

I have the same problem with HP QuickPlay 3.7 v5620 after the latest Norton LiveUpdate on 22 Sept 08. Now it crashes on Windows (Vista x64) start and each time QuickPlay TV is launched. No other applications or system changes/updates took place over the past 5 days. QuickPlay was fine until Norton decided to update itself. Uninstalling Norton fixes the problem. HP should stop pre-installing the Norton crap on their machines; this is how users react: returning the machines-- http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-vista-support/273695-hp-webcam-quickplay-problems.html

HP should install a Windows-friendly anti-virus: Microsoft OneCare--they created Windows and know how to protect it without messing up with other well-behaved programs.

Hi Quickplay :smileyhappy:

Actually...

It Turned Out...

It wasn't NIS 08 Causing The Problems With - Quickplay

It Turned Out...

Apart from the slight hang when closing IE7.

It wasn't NIS 08 causing any of the problems with my new laptop.

Last Week.... I uninstalled - NIS 08

I completely cleaned it out!

Uninstalled The Normal Way

Norton Removal Tool

Deleted Left Over Folders

CCleaner

With NIS 08 Uninstalled

And Only Windows Defender &  Windows Firewall As Security....

Ouickplay .... Still Hung At Start Up :smileysad:

Start - Computer .... Still Needed To Load :smileysad:

The Laptop Still... Failed To Shutdown Properly :smileysad:

In Fact!

Apart from IE7 not hanging anymore...

With NIS 08 Uninstalled - There wasn't any difference in the performance of my laptop  :smileysurprised:

I Have Now Installed - NIS 09 ... And ... I'm Very Happy With It! :smileyvery-happy:

My Laptop Still Has The Same Problems :smileysad:

Apart From One.... IE7 Doesn't Hang Any More :smileyvery-happy:

But I'm Not Blaming Norton Anymore .... I'm Blaming - HP :smileymad:

I've done a bit Googling on this Quickplay Problem

And found there are many other angry HP customers with the same problem.
There was a suggestion that the - Quickplay software is incompatible with Vista

You Said...

HP should install a Windows-friendly anti-virus: Microsoft OneCare--they created Windows and know how to protect it without messing up with other well-behaved programs.

Have you ever tried - Windows Live OneCare ?

I Have! ... On My Old - XP

It Was Terrible! :smileymad:

I need a copy of NIS09 if they are distributing it for free with at least 12 months subscription :smileywink::smileyvery-happy:

The issue of CyberLink's HP QuickPlay QPCapSvc (and CLCapSvc in PowerCinema) is well documented with Norton and some other antivirus suites like Kaspersky. Just do your homework in Google or maybe contact CyberLink.

Here is a quote from an old post:

> I bought an ATI TV Wonder 200, installed it today, installed the software, downloaded the latest driver and whenever I go to run the TV program it gives me an error, "ClCapSvc Module encountered a problem... send report?" and the program doesn't work. Any ideas? I'm on Windows XP. (...) I encountered this exact problem and have been struggling with it for about a week now. I have determined the problem is not with the drivers, but with the Catalyst Media Center software. I reformatted and reinstalled Windows and that fixed the problem. However, as soon as I reinstalled Kaspersky AV, the problem started again, so that tells me there is a conflict between Catalyst Media Center and Kaspersky. http://www.tweak3d.net/forums/tech/clcapsvc-module-error-new-ati-tv-tuner-card-8808

OneCare is gentle on system resources as well; saves your $$$ mobile processor for more useful tasks! You can also try AVast and Comodo.

Same with Kaspersky: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=47018

I would strongly recommend that you do not use OneCare as it is the worst “Anti-Virus Software” out there; it [OneCare] misses lots of Internet Threats on your system and is, generally, an awful “Product”.
