As a regular visitor of this forum, I have detected a lot of people having problems with version 20 of Norton Internet Security. I too have had my share of problems. We all love your product, otherwise we would ditch you and go somewhere else. How about helping us out. I would love nothing more than to do a complete reinstall using NRT to fix any niggling problems, but you have put a large obstacle in our way. We can do it via a painful route by installing version 19 and all its updates and then upgrade to version 20 and all its updates if we wish to keep the identity safe local. How about giving us all a break, give us back our local vault and let us fix our computers by directly installing the latest version 20. How about it? Maybe you could even save yourself a few headaches.
We have begged Symantec repeatedly to re-add local safe in Norton Internet Security 2013 but they have adamantly refused. Their claims is that it’s “too confusing for both.” The only way is to install NIS 2012, create safe, and then over install (no need for updates. I tend to use the stock latest version of 2012 without updating it. I install 2012, create safe, and over-install with 2013).
Another solution: Use Sticky Password to replace Identity Safe. The Sticky PW team is working with a cloud solution, but they have promised to keep the local storage.
(I find Identity Safe very useful and I have local storage with my NIS Online version (v20), but I am afraid of loosing my local db in the future. Accordingly, “I stick with Sticky”).
