I installed Norton 360 exactly a week ago (I've used Norton in the past) after using other security for more than a year. After 4 days of using 360 I began to get a lot of pop ups and junky ads on sites that had never had them before. My primary browser is IE and some things no longer work well. I can't use Google as all searches go to a blank page; I can use Google on the Chrome browser, tho, but the pop ups are as bad as with IE.
Mousing over a lot of words also causes pop ups. Photobucket no longer works. I have not changed any settings since installing Norton. I am not a computer expert but I suspect something got thru that Norton is not detecting. Please help
The other security product(s) you were using, have they been uninstalled correctly using their vendors special removal tools, before installing N360. It sounds like you may very well be infected, but first try using a free malware scanner.
Malwarebytes Free Scanner is highly recommended here. Download the Free version, update the database and run a Full Scan. Deny the 14 day trial offer for the Pro version. Keep on your desktop to use as a second opinion scanner along with regular scans of your Norton product.
You may need expert help in removing any infection. These are some Removal Forums to try if need be. Register with one and stay with the person you start with. You didn't name any specific infection that Norton found, so see what Malwarebytes finds first.

It could be you need to set the options in IE for blocking pop ups. I'm not sure what all the options are in IE, I have firefox. Go into the IE tools option and just keep looking to find where you "block pop ups" and make sure you allow "session cookies", but uncheck the box allowing 3rd party cookies. I've had too many issues with IE since I got my pc. It had nothing to do with Norton. I've been a Norton 360 user for abt 8 yrs., leaving one year and trying something else. When I first got my pc I ran McAfee until it let a trojan in. Even when running another antivirus, still had the same issues with IE. I don't use google either. Don't like it, it tends to invade privacy.
Things cleared up after I ran the malwarebyte. As to IE vs Firefox, I had a lot of trouble with FF some years ago and have not used it recently. I may try it again. I am not as happy with IE as I once was but I know it was not the source of my problems. Thanks for the help.

Hi Renni,
Glad to hear things are cleared up. If any issues return, don't hesitate to post back. Keep Malwarebytes on your desktop. Keep the database updated and run a scan about once a week, or anytime you suspect something is not right, along with running your regular Norton scans.
