Hi - posting this here first to see if I can get a reliable answer before I try the Norton managers. I'm barely computer literate so please bare with me.
Repeated disappearing Norton icon in desktop tray, usually with a 50+% CPU usage at idle, has caused me to chat with the support personal "5" times about this problem. Its usually fixed by an uninstall - reinstall-live update. 2 chats ago after Norton personal had done their magic control on my HP m7557c - Windows XP pro, I keep getting several popups asking to reinstall from a disk that I have never had --- "SmartWebPrinting.msi", or download a computer file that Windows says "Can't find, check spelling". The 2 of them keep looping and locks up further usage until you cancel on them 3 times. Last tech chat tech advised me to "ignore it" but every time I change to another icon or link, the same 2 popups reappear.
