Port 80

I've been using McAfee on my Windows 10 Pro for a few years. This was part of my broadband deal.

I just installed Norton Security as a customer of Plusnet.

Now I find the Norton is blosking port 80 that I use for my Server that I have my website on.

My question is. How do I open port 80 in Norton's software?

I don't have any settings that shows this can be done. The only way seems to switch the firewall off totally.

I just had a look at the link.

None of the instructions match my Norton Ver.

I tried following it none the less, but the config directions on my Norton don't exist.

At least I've managed a workround.

Thanks once again for the input.

Thanks for the post back. Have you given this a try?

Hi SA.

I haven't found a solution to the Norton config. I seems to me there isn't a way of opening a single port in Norton.

However, what I have done, and it seems to work, is open port 80 using the Windows firewall.

I assume it's not worth the bother for Norton to give this facility to the very few who would want this.

@Dingus Following up with the thread. Can you please post your progress/status? TIA.

Awesome, let us know so we can follow-up with you.

SA not yet, but will when time permits.
I’ll then report back.

Have you reset the Norton firewall? Then rechecked for the application attempting to use port 80 responding and Norton allowing it?

SA

Yes all McAfee was removed.

I can access Nortons allow/refuse section but I can't find to just open a particular port.

Hello Dingus. Did you first remove McAfee and restart the system before installing Norton? If not use the tool below to properly remove McAfee and all of its residual files.

In case you have already removed McAfee reset your Norton firewall and retest.
