Possible Deep Scan of My Computer

Hello!

I have a question about the way my computer is "acting" lately. I can't put a finger on what it is, but it is subtly affecting my computer's performance. I have a Dell Inspiron 5520 with Windows 7 and am unable to install some of the drivers necessary to run, for example, my CD-ROM and my card reader. Also, programs often open slowly and my computer has been running sluggishly the last few months and sometimes freezes up. I'm wondering if it needs a DEEP SCAN to check for some possible virus or malware. Can you do that or do you know where I might go to have that done? Any help you can give me is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Delphinium,

Excuse me, but why are you giving a link to another user's infection problem?

Isn't it always strongly recommended in these Forums to never follow instructions given to other users as they only apply to the situation of the user asking for help, i.e. the OP, with his/her OS, as even small differences can mean a different way to proceed?

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

It’s the same user. Delph was simply posting to the thread that the user ignored the last time around.

Same user (sorry, you are right...my mistake!) doesn't mean same issue as nearly one and a half year ago...

Edit: "...that the user ignored the last time around." Can you please explain from what it is clear that the user

is having now exactly the same issue as in June 2012? Thanks.

Well I /think/ that’s why Delph posted that link. But hey, don’t shoot the messenger.

From what the user says here and what he/she said in June Iast year, how can one say it is exactly the same problem...

Cheers.

Depending on whether the user got the malware cleaned off.

From what the user says here in the op I cannot say he/she is having (or still having?) exactly the same problem as in June 2012, can you?...This is the point...
