possible infection...well 'probable'

G'day, (I AM from Asutralia)

After downloading and installing a raft of windows (7) updates, including 'bing desktop' which was subsequently removed, I noted that all toolbars for Internet explorer disappeared. further, IE became unresponsive from the first link (or opening)  I have been to Microsoft (MS) 'answers community and they have apparently thrown their collective hands in the air, after recomending, downloading & running a number of other antivirus and antispyware tools

The situation continues.

Also i now see chrome and firefox unable to access many sites including cnet.com, yet it can go to microsoft...??

I have re-installed IE9, and of course run NIS full scan.

I also ran the full scan and superantispyware, before reinstalling (after uninstalling).

Further, recently, each time I do a search in either browser, something called overture (or rc12 overture) appears. This seems to be removed by 'superantipyware', however return after scanning and removing.

I have also seen panels appear in firefox and chrome, related to ads...?

I have tried creating a new win 7 account, and the issue continues.

I have also run:

- Superantispyware
- msert
- windows defender
- windows security scan
- Malwarebytes
- Stinger
- Nortons power eraser (including reboots... also seeks out rootkits)
- Microsoft 'fixit' (various incarnations)

It would seem I am either significantly infected, or somwthing else relating to the windows updates (which kicked this off), is occuring.

Appreciate any suggestion.
