Hello, I have been working on my dads computer for a few days now. I believe the computer has a root kit virus. I have run Norton in safe mode, sophos anti-rootkit. I also ran malwarebytes. All which found something. I deleted everything that norton and malwarebytes found but i didnt do anything with what sophos anti-rootkit program found as i do not know what to delete and keep. I wanted to run hijackthis and post a log but if i am running outside of safe mode the computer takes almost 5 minutes to bring ie up and takes almost 20 minutes to boot up in normal mode. I am currently running in safe mode and the computer opperates as it should. In regular windows you can not have more than one window open or it will freeze for up to 10 minutes. whatever i may have its doing a good job of being a virus. Lets see who can help. Thanks, Brandon
