PowerProISO Virus

Hi,

There is a new site and program.  It has only been on the Internet for a week.  The product is called PowerProISO and it was suppose to be designed to help you create Bootable DVDs.  It's a virus.  It is unknown to Norton.  Norton warned me due to its history and the fact that I had set Sonar at High.  It also blocked it at 97% of the download.

However, it did damage.  The first thing I tried when it starting installing Avast Antivirus was to stop the download in my Opera browser (didn't stop).  Next, I tried stopping it in the Task Manager (didn't work).  Next, I tried to uninstall Avast and PowerProISO and it wouldn't uninstall.  Next, I restarted my HP Pavillion and hit the "F11" key and got into the Rescue menu.

I selected the Advanced option and tried to Restore to the last restore point before the install.  It failed to restore because the virus damaged the restore points.  Next, I selected Restart in the menus and then option "4" to boot into Safe Mode.  In Safe Mode, I was able to uninstall the Avast and the PowerPro ISO.  I ignored the message stating that Windows Security Service was turned off.  Next, I restarted and booted into Normal Windows.  This WORKED.

The Avast Antivirus and PowerProISO were gone.  Next, I found the files I downloaded and deleted them.  Next, I went into the Opera browser and deleted the downloads and the entire history, cookies, etc...Closed the browser.  Next, I had Norton run a Scan and no viruses were found.  Empty the recycle bin.  All is fine now.  Maybe this is a Malware.  I don't know but wanted to advise the public.
