Pre-loaded "Trial" version to CD 2011 Internet Security

First post; on my new laptop, I have run the trial version of Norton Internet Security 2011 now for a couple of weeks. (Version 18.5.0.125)

Wow!

This is NOT your father's Norton any more!!  Much changed from years gone by and reviews are also very good. I'm impressed and definitely want to continue with the Norton protection.

The offers I'm getting via email are for a 1 year subscription for $49.99.  However, I have found a CD of Norton Internet Security 2011on Amazon and other places for anywhere from $21 to $30.

Obviously, the prices for the physical CD are attractive, and money is tight, so am looking to save a buck. So I'd like to go with a new CD.

1. Is this a good idea or a bad idea?  Any downside/danger to using the CD via renewing via Norton?

2. My guess is that I should remove my trial version using the uninstall feature,  then use the Norton removal tool a couple of times with restarts in between and THEN download 2011 from the CD?

3. Any advantage of the timing of this? ie; should I wait until my TRIAL version is completely expired, or can I switch from Trial to CD version at any time..

Thanks much!
