Preventing auto-homing to a website

Hello; I need to know if there's a way to use my Norton Internet Security" package to prevent *MY* computer from going out and auto-connecting to a website.  You see, I use a Chess program to work 24-7 on Chess problems, but the software auto-connects to its "parent website" and it, in turn, commandeers my PC to work on other people's Chess problems!!  Once that happens, it takes over my program for its own use.  So, can I plug in a doman or URL or IP address that prevents my PC from being a slave to my Chess program?

Thank you for any assistance [Removed]

Cheers.

Once that happens, it takes over my program for its own use.

Are you sure you want to continue using a website that does that?

Any idea what country it is located in? devil

Is there no option in the program's settings to disable that "feature?"
