Ever since I installed Norton 2011 my printer doesn't work. The Print Spooler service crashes with this message:
[Window Title]
Microsoft Windows
[Main Instruction]
Spooler SubSystem App stopped working and was closed
[Content]
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available.
[Close]
Then Windows explains that it crashed because of Data Execution Prevention.
Here is the message from the event log:
Faulting application spoolsv.exe, version 6.0.6002.18294, time stamp 0x4c6a9898, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000, process id 0xe70, application start time 0x01cc57ccc2a9ff0d.
Any help would be great! I just want to print again!!!
Is this a wired printer or wireless? Have you allowed all of the printer's exe files in the program control?
What operating system are you using?
It's nothing fancy... just a simple Dell Printer/Scanner connected through USB. It's not the printer that's the problem, my Print Spooler service is actually crashing.
Maybe something helpful in this Microsoft Technet page:
Print Spooler Crash Troubleshooting Steps
But some of it is pretty deep stuff into the registry so don't go there unless you are used to doing it and know about backing up the registry first.

The print spooler is a windows function unless you have installed software specific to your printer which may have changed that fact. That's not usual so we'll move on. How is your network trust set up?
Let us know how it goes
