Private Email

I am new to Private Email. Sounds like it might work except that I have been using my email address as a password for about 20 years, and probably with over 50 - 75 different websites, such as Norton, Home Depot, Amazon, all kind of retail stores, etc., etc.  So, if I went to the trouble to change my password on all those websites, which could take a couple of hours, and substitute my new "mask" email address, does anyone think that would really help?  My email is out there, and has been out there, for over 20 years.  If I was just starting this voyage I could see the wisdom, but ........

I would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

I have a suggestion for Norton, i.e. written, even oral, communication is difficult.  In my career (as an attorney) I learned that using examples is an easier way to explain most things.  Norton could say something like, "Hey, we've got a new email thing that will help you with privacy and xxx. Here's an example of the way it works: Xxxxx  xxxxx  xxx.

so I should have given that company my "mask" email address???   Is it that simple?

Yep,
By creating a private email "mask" you are creating an email address that you can use as an email address.
Norton Private Email system will forward any response emails to your "real" email account.

Private Email improves email privacy by masking your personal email addresses so they're unrecognizable, and removes hidden trackers often found in sent emails that can be used to gather private, personally identifiable information, including location, device usage, interests, and shopping behaviors.

Login ID/username is correct.  Thank you for getting me straight on that.

You say I don't need to change anything, which means I don't understand the usage of Private Email.  Here's a guess on my part: I bought some shirts online last week from a company (not Amazon, just a one-off purchase) and part of the order process was them asking for my email so they could "send me tracking info abt my shipment." I gave them my email. I assume they could sell my email, etc., so I should have given that company my "mask" email address???   Is it that simple?  Can you think of any other examples?

If that is the only usage of Private Email for me (and I suspect I am a normal internet/email user) that will only be a dozen or so uses per year. And 50-75 companies already have my email address, so this idea seems to have limited help for me.  I must be missing something.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

To clarify, are you using your email address as a password or a login ID/username? If a login ID/username, you do not have to change anything.
