Does anyone have this working? I cannot get the software to authenticate to the servers -- not the old version or the new version; however, my e-mail address and password work perfectly fine at the website. Also, when I try to upgrade, it complains that I already have a device named that. Well, duh! I'm upgrading that device! I shouldn't have to change the name of it. I even logged on at the website and deleted the devices I had listed, and it still complains that I already have a device with that name when I try to authenticate.
I can't believe I just renewed my premier membership thinking they were going to get this working after almost a complete week of server downtime. I should have waited. Perhaps I will request an extension or ask that my premier service doesn't start until their software works.
From a long-time customer perspective, this upgrade was a complete failure: minimal customer communication, long downtime of server, and then the new stuff doesn't even work. Sad, sad, sad...

I am also struggling for the last several weeks with this. First, every one of my kids complained that the internet was not connecting for them. I did some troubleshooting and discovered that if I shut off NFS, they could surf easily. So I allowed it for a time and kept trying to get it to work. Finally after a few days it seemed towork again. However now it seems to have new issues, I recieved the notice to upgrade, but it is not working. I keep getting prompted to install every time I use Norton Internet security to log in to Family Safety. It takes 3 or 4 attempts to log on but after a while I can get in through NIS. If I try to get in through the family safety interface, it always tells me that teh server is not available. Additionally, I just upgraded to NIS 2013 in a vain attempt to get windows to recognize that NIS is actually running. The system tray warning for Action Center says I have no malware, firewall or antivirus running, but Norton Internet Security 2013 indicates "GREEN" and says everything is fine. I even tried the Microsoft Hotfix, but it didn't help. Whatever happened to the Norton that worked so well all these years?
I was able to uninstall by starting my computer in safe mode, since that was the only way I could use the internet and it needed to verify my norton family password. I can now use the internet but if I re-install the norton family product, I lose all access to the internet. I use windows vista on my computer.
uninstall works on my computer if I start up computer in safety mode
I still have a problem with no internet access after installing the NFS update. I use microsoft vista.
Oh yeah, I forgot the specs. We're on Win7 SP1 with I.E.9 and Norton Internet Securities 2013 and this is regarding the attempt to get the latest version of norton family safety to sync up with the internet based administrator's console. I have the latest version installed, but cannot sync up to the web account to manage the records coming from this computer. So no data is being recorded on the family safety page. Not good.
Similar problem here. Upgrade tries to install but fails due to "custom action stopped working."
This is pretty unbelieveable. Please somehow let me know when there is a fix.
Best,
Keith
