Yes under windows it does as you plug-in. but not when boot by Ghost Boot CD.
regards,
I have HP Pavilion Notebook with 80GB Sata HardDrive and IDE DVD+RW drive. I wanted to take complete drive Image of this harddrive on external USB SATA 120Gb harddrive.
I created Bootable CD from Symantec Ghost 11 Boot wizard with USB support but once I boot the notebook by CD I can see only my notebook sata harddrive but NO external USB SATA drive appearing in Ghost drive list.
Even I tried to use "Ghost -NoIDE" and "Ghost -FNI" parameters.
Looking for soultion.
Regards

This reply might not be of much help, but ....
Does your system even recognize the external drive?
I had the same problem with my system not recognizing a Western Digital Mybook external 500GIG drive when I hooked it up to a USB port.
I called WD. The problem was I had to "activate" the drive. I can't for the life of me remember how I did it, but the process might be a bit different for different external drives.
I'd suggest you contact the external drive's manufacturer and explain the problem. They should know how to get your system to recognize your external drive.
