Norton's New Version 5.1? With its spam BS? Now I cannot send e-mails out using Outlook Express if it is to multiple people that contains a web link! GGGRRRRRRR!
And Good Luck using Norton's lame suipport system?
I turned off ALL Spam Stuff on Norton..............but still get the following:
Sorry you are having a problem. Outlook Express is no longer a MS supported program. You might want to considere another one. Among the things that you turned off did you turn off the outgoing mail scan? That might be the last piece of the puzzle you need to success.
Actually, since XP SP3 is still supported, Otlook Express is still being supported by Microsoft as well as Symantec.
On the 360 Main screen click "Settings", next screen click "AntiVirus".
Then click the middle tab "Scans and Risks".
A little way down you will see "Email Antivirus scan" click where it says Configure and you will see 2 settings for outbound mail, scan outgoing email and scan outgoing email for worms.
You may or may not need to uncheck both, you might want to play around with those and see what happens.
Darn! Still not letting me send out e-mail using Outlook Express! I am so very discouraged with Norton! And I still have 616 days left on my subscription!
Please Help Me!
Is there a way for me to uninstall this new 5.1 Version and go back to the previous Version of Norton 360?
If I only had a short while on my subscription? I would uninstall Norton in a sec go get the FREE AVG ! Hey? Which I may just have to do afterall? ..................sigh
How about helping us old timers who are addicted to using Outlook Express?
You cannot imagine the stress I have experienced since your recent upgrade! SHAME ON NORTON!
I have over 200 Websites and e-mail several hundred people all over the Country using Outlook Express!
And I routinely e-mail our Group ..........a "Gang of Liberty Lovers" .............which consists of 25 People ............and my e-mails contain LINKS to various Web Pages on our Website: http://www.HOA1234.com ...........
I have over 800 Subscribers throughout the State of Nevada that I also send e-mails to every week! However..........for them? I pay over $300 every year using http://www.ConstantContact.com
And I have dozens of other e-mail accounts at both Yahoo Mail as well as GMail ...... BUT? For my every day e-mails? I really prefer using Outlook Express!
Can you please FIX your newest Version? So that I may again use Outlook Express? Or at least? Give me step-by-step instructions that actually work to solve this problem?
I had a problem with My Cox TV a few months ago when I created a website: www.ShameOnCox.com and boy! Cox sent out three different crews to my home to fix my Cable Problem within a week! Even replacing the entire cable to my home from Junction Box down the street! But turns out? The problem was with my 5 year old Cable Converter Box! ...........so now that dot com points to my HOA Website....... but I just checked! www.ShameOnNorton.com is available!
Nah! But Please? Norton? Let me have my Outlook Express back? Pretty Please? I really will have no choice but to eat my two year subscription with you? And spend the $49 for AVG! And during my Free Classes at the Henderson Senior Center where I have held FREE Computer Sessions to over one thousand Seniors during the last three years http://www.sam1234.com .....I will be sure to spread the word NOT to use Norton Anti Virus! .............use AVG instead!
I think, there is some misunderstanding here. Email Protection is an extra layer of protection that scans the incoming and the outgoing email. To do this job, Email Protection is placed between your email program and the Internet Service Provider(Cox). If the ISP rejects an outgoing email immediately, Norton AntiVirus carries the message. But the message is really from the ISP.
Here in your case, your ISP-COX thinks that the links you attached to the email are having characteristics similar to Phishing Web sites, and they rejected the email. Norton AntiVirus is just a carrier of this rejected message from COX. The information regarding this error is provided here:
This is why you are unable to send emails even after disabling all settings in Norton program. Emails may still get rejected by your ISP even if you replace Norton 360 with any other security product. You can contact Cox technical support regarding this:
