Problem with NIS 2011 and Hamachi

Hi all, ok so the situation is.. I'm using a valid product of NIS 2011, I can run hamachi just fine i can join other peoples games, but my friends can't see my games, they ping me and it says "request timed out", ok so when i turn off the smart firewall from NIS they can ping me when, I turn it on they can't. I opened NIS and configure the settings under network settings> smart firewall>program control, hamachi was set to "auto" so i set it to "allow" but they still can't ping me. I don't want to completely turn off smart firewall while playing with my friends. Any help would be appreciated

Oh and Im using  an older version of hamachi 1.0.1.5 also, tried it with the latest version of hamachi same scenario, using windows 7-64bit  if that helps

Welcome

Not a gamer so I may be way, way off bse on this one

Are you using IE9? Do you use it while playing your game? Is there a torn page icon at the top of the screen? Does changing the mode make any difference?

Hope this helps. Or at least triggers the correct answer from someone else :smileywink:

IE9? do you mean internet explorer 9? no im not, im using firefox and im not using it for games... btw Hamachi is a program it allows users to create his/her own network and and also allows you to join other networks created by other users its kinda like VLAN(virtual LAN) more info can be found in their main site just google Hamachi in case your interested. Currently i can join my friends game but they can't join mine.

EDIT: my problem is when i turn off smart firewall from NIS they can detect and join my games, when I turn it back on they can't like i said in my previous post i dont want to completely turn off smart firewall while im playing with my friends.

OK, so the problem is the smart firewall

Have you gone in and tried to allow just Hamachi access? I'm thinking that you should find an entry in the history file indicating that something connected with the game was blocked. Allowing access should resolve the problem.

Hope this is better help
