Problem with Norton 360

I got a problem with my Norton 360. I have the icons in the start menu and desktop, but when I want to open the program, nothing happens. The program don't run, and when I try to solve the problem and trying to actualize, a message appears saying "sorry, no Norton products detected". Then I download again, but the problem still remains. How can I solve this?

Did you bought Norton 360, Norton AntiVirus 2009, or Norton Internet Security 2009? Because they are different products, and you can't activate any of them with the other's licence key.

If you bought the wrong product you wanted, contact the Support team, and they can help you to get the right software for you.

Just to add:

To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there. Email may be less frustrating but worth trying chat in case they can fix it on the spot.

This is the way you need to go

My mother bought a new computer with Norton 360 pre-installed.  She has a key for the Premiere Edition of 360 V2.  She cannot use that key to activate the pre-installed version.

Hi Madcow0518,

How did she purchase the key? Did she purchase the key from our online store or got it from any of the retail stores.

Pre-installed computers typically don't carry N360 Premier. So, I'm guessing that you are trying to insert the key for N360 Premier on a regular N360 layout. This will not work.

You need to download the N360 v3 Premier and install it on your computer.

Also, something that I'd like to bring to your notice is that you're eligible for a free upgrade of the product to N360 v3. In your case it will be N360 v3 premier. You can use the key that you purchased for N360 Premier V2 to activate the N360 V3 Premier. The number of subscription days will be automatically carried to the new layout.

Please check Tony's announcement for more information about this.

You can download the product from the link given in the above post. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Can I do an installation on top or do I have to remove the previous version.  If I have to remove the first version it would make more sense to wipe and reload from a clean image (I have a fresh copy of Windows and not just a restore disk).  I never have and never will trust “removal tools”

Hi Madcow0518,

How many days of subscription is remaining in the preinstalled version of Norton 360?

If it have more than 1 month of subscription, better wait for that subscription to expire, then download and install Norton 360 3.0 Premier from the link Papauz provided above. The subscription from preinstalled version won't get transfered when you install Norton 360 3.0 Premier. You can remove the preinstalled version from Add/remove Programs before installing the Norton 360 3.0 Premier edition.  You may need to use the Norton removal tool only if you face any problems during installation. Even if you didn't uninstall the previous version, the Norton 360 3.0 installation will automatically remove it and then onlyproceed with installation. Let us know how it goes.

Yogesh

It  has 27 days remaining so I’ll wait and let it expire.  Thanks for the help.

Bumping this thread up.  With Vista SP2 out, which should go on first?  That or N360

I would say in your situation, since you can wait, let N360 almost expire, uninstall N360, put SP2 on the system and then put the new installation of N360 on the system.  This would clean the way for both software to install unimpeded.

That is currently what I’m doing.  N360 first then SP2.

I said in my post to remove the pre-installed N360 then install SP2 for Vista then install N360 v3 Premiere.

So that would be ( just to list it out )

Remove the pre-installed N360 from the system.

Add SP2 for Vista.

Then install N360 v3 Premiere and use the key you already have on this.

Thanks.

Well, my pc (a notebook Asus A53S) got installed Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security, but I swear that was uninstalled when I installed Norton 360....but recently I have reset the pc because suddenly he started to work too slowly and with some problems to open folders, wiew photos, etc., and maybe it restored the Trend antivirus....I don't know. I try to uninstall but the program still appears, I don't know how I can uninstall him.....
