Problem with Norton Antivirus Version 22.5.0.124

My Norton Antivirus software updated itself on Friday to version 22.5.0.124. After the update and reboot I have two problems to report:

1) The new "Auto Protect" function in this version identified several old heavily used files as having a problem (I think it was a Trojan.Gen.SMH finding) and caused my application to abort. I hit the "Restore & Exclude" button on these files. However, the software did not remember to exclude them from scans as the files were again, and again, flagged and quarantined. After many attempts to use the "Restore & Exclude" function" I finally entered the data manually. That worked. The "Restore & Exclude" function needs to be fixed as it is not working.

2) After the update the task bar at the bottom of my screen now blinks (disappears and then reappears quickly) when I click on a window within Windows Explorer. This is very, very, annoying and needs to be corrected.  I believe the new version is scanning the files in the window that is being opened and causing the Task Bar to blink.

I am using Windows 7 professional.
