Problems installing Norton

Please help - I have tried to install Norton WiFi protection but having no joy in completing the install all the way through as I keep having a message come up saying that the program is already running and to close it - but I cannot see it anywhere!  I have followed the Norton website advice of rebooting with no joy, I have tried to uninstall it to start again from scratch but I still get the message written above. I do not know how to move forward with this - can anyone help me?

More worrying is my Google page is now not in English - should I be concerned about his?

It sounds like you already have Norton Wifi Privacy, NWP installed. This is indicated by the install message, and the Google pages showing non English pages (a known issue, see this Norton KB article).

If the issue is not seeing a NWP icon in your System Tray, try clicking on the up arrow at the left of the System Tray to see the hidden icons. Then you can drag the NWP icon to the main System Tray.
