Norton Antivirus 2008 cleared a trojan for me. In the log it says "Trojan.vundo  fully removed" It repeats this message 3 times then says "Trojan.vundo  Process Termination Required"   Is this process termination that is required something that I have to do?

No, now it says “Reboot required” which I did and checked again and it still says reboot required.

hi Annie - it sounds like it there is a problem getting the last bits of vundo off the system. i'd recommend rebooting into safe mode (click F8 after post several times until you get startup menu with safe mode as option). run a full scan in safe mode (i'd also recommend running LiveUpdate prior to restarting in safe mode to ensure that you have the latest def's).

It sounds like there is still something left indeed.

Please try the following.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Than

Please download SuperAntispyware from Here , the free version will do the trick

  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, Superantispyware will show all the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Sorry, the log does still say Process Termination Required.  The history says reboot required. which might be what the former means. Thanks for your suggestions, I will have my son try them this weekend when he comes over. (a little too much for me a computer newbie). Although Since I’m not having the pop ups anymore, do I need to bother?

Is it still telling you this after couple of days?
