Product/Subscription Renewal

I would welcome some advice.

I currently run NIS (3 PC 1 Year version) on a Windows 7 laptop and a Windows XP laptop. Subscription renewal is due in a few weeks.I get a bit confused by the name changes on Norton products, but am I right in thinking that 'Norton Security' 5PC version is the appropriate replacement? (This seems to be referred to as the 'DeLuxe' version).

I prefer to avoid online purchase and buy 'out of the box' (for an activation key) - apart from anything else it's usually significantly cheaper if you can find a half price offer. If I remember from the approach I took last year the procedure would then be (for install on the first PC anyway) -

1 Download the latest version of the Norton Removal tool (best place to download from?).

2 Download latest version of Norton Security (presumably a free trial version - where from?). This is likely to be a more up to date version than that on the box CD.

3 Run removal tool to remove NIS.

4 Restart PC.

5 Install Norton Security from download (or possibly run direct from website?).Plus run Live Update.

6 Activate product with key from boxed purchase.

Does this sound ok? I assume I need to keep the PC online for 3 4 and 5 for My Account to be appropriately updated and activation to take place?
