Product Suggestions

1) The Norton account password should be required before the product can be uninstalled or removed from Device Administration. Otherwise if the device is stolen and the product uninstalled, Anti-Theft does no good.

2) The product should give more noticable warning of "Other Risks" when an app is downloaded. Preferable a popup on the screen notifying users fo the potential issues with the new app.

Hi cohbraz.

Thanks for coming up with these suggestions.

Personally I'm not sure that the first would be possible as it would seem to be a clash between NMS and base Android functionality.  However I can see why you ask for it.  One of the reasons NMS has the "Ongoing Notifications" option is so that it would not be immediately obvious to someone who gets the phone that NMS is loaded.  Thus giving you time to get to another phone or computer and thus lock the lost device.  I'm not saying this is ideal, just trying to explain the background.

As for your second suggestion, would you mind clarifying exactly what you mean by "Other Risks".  As you probably know, if NMS does not like a download you currently get a very obvious pop up.

Keep on coming up with good ideas.  :-)

For the second idea, let's say a user downloads an app that pushes ads to the phone aggressively. Currently, NMS will not show a popup since the app does not contain malware but the app will show up in the "Other Ricks" section of the security app. I think that a popup for any "Other Risk" item should be displayed so that the user has to choose to accept the app or unistall it.

As for the first idea, it is possible. I promise! (Seen other security apps with it.)

Thanks for the fast and clear response Corey.

Re- other risks:

1. Thanks for pointing out that you were using exactly the same terminology that Norton were using - :smileyembarrassed:

2. Are you aware of the "Norton Spot" app that is free helps with add loaded apps?  Again I am not saying that this does what you want, just not sure if you were aware of it.

All the best.

1) Sorry! :smileywink:

2) Yep, tried Spot and it works well. However since NMS already detects it, it should be pretty easy to code in a popup and allow the customer to make a decision.
