Protected mode

My OS is Windows 7 and I am using IE-9.  When I am trying to read or answer mail a box pops up telling me that IE has stopped working and it will close and search for a problem.  I have gone to IE advanced settings and clicked reset and I have gone to programs and windows essential and clicked repair, but nothing helped.  I searched on line for help and read a post to go to security and disable protected mode.  If I disable it will my Norton 360 be all the protection that I need?

I would like to know that the you are turning it off in Security essentials or in Norton 360.

 

If you are turning off the Security Essentials then yes Norton would give you a complete protection. We would usually not suggest using multiple secuirty softwares in a computer. It might create some problems please let us know if you have any other issues.
