I seem to get updates to my N360 install pretty regularly, to the point I thought it was using the same pulse update technology of NIS2009. However, the Symantec Store page seems to show otherwise:
Norton Product Comparison
Am I mistaken in that it doesn't use the same update technology, or is the page incorrect?
That product comparison page is incorrect. N360v3 does use pulse update technology, as well as Norton Insight for faster and fewer scans.

Will it be posible to turn on Pulse Updates on battery power in N 360, as it is possible now in NIS 2009?
Generally speaking, it would be nice if N 360 was a bit more configurable. :D
Hello CountryGuy,
The page you linked to seemed to be updated as it is now showing norton 360 v3.0 as having the pusle update feature.
Sekhar.B
Unfortunately N360 is not as customizable as NIS. Pulse updates are configured to require AC power. There is not currently a way to change this.
Remember that one of the most imortant advantages of N360 is how unobtrusive and low-maintenance it is. Part of that comes from the fact that it takes care of many of its own configuration options.

That shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish - just create a 'for geekdom' Advanced Settings page. There aren't too many options even in NIS 2009, when compared to other security suites.
I don't consider this particular setting to be important, don't confuse my intentions - the skill of your malware researchers and the efficiency of your honeypots is far more important than getting those small definition bits.
There is one thing I don't understand - there are usually just 5 - 10 new threats per day on Symantec Threat Explorer - yet Pulse Updates outnumber them by a factor of 100 at least.
What can you possibly put in them?

Modifications of Threats as the ones that appear of Threat Explorer is Brand New Threats.

There aren't THAT many, although it approaches that number, I admit.
I meant to write: "Modifications of other Threats that are not on the Threat Explorer (T.E.), as the ones on T.E. are Brand New Detections." This could mean Added Functions or better "Hacking Technologies".

There aren't THAT many,...
You have to remember that those Detections are Detections for the whole of the Last 24Hours; Norton 2008 Products and Newer will already have at least 50% of these already. Also, these are the Detections that symantec Security Response have actually managed to Modify!
